Developed during a 6 month incubator program, shooting stars is an exploration of nostalgia, its ability to evoke strong emotional reactions and how it can be represented in an audio visual medium

The piece was installed on the main stage at Gray Area over December 5th & 6th, 2018 and was expereienced as a pre recorded montage as well as a live performance.

The visuals were built in openframeworks. EEG data was fed to the openframeworks sketch via OSC. The visuals and sound are set in a cellestial looking space. Everytime there is a spike of emotions, shooting stars appear accompanied by chime sounds.
